There has been an ongoing negative approach to sirah-history texts especially in the hadith environments from past to present. The wholesomeness and the general validity of this negative approach are questionable; the justification of this negative approach is based on the fact that it fails to comply with its scientific conditions. However, it is also obvious that there is a problematic expression of unreliability towards the existing texts because two different sciences do not comply with each other's conditions. We will attempt to discuss the problem of reliability of the sirah literature in this study. Likewise, we will focus on the fact that how acceptable is the mistrust towards text caused by the criticism directed to Islamic historians about having no critical approach, on the factors affecting the reliability of sirah texts and the criticism perceptions of sirah authors of the classical period.
