GENERAL INFORMATION
Journal of Islamic Research is an unprejudiced and independent magazine with an international arbitration system evaluating the articles with the "double-blind" method.
Objective
Social sciences and especially religious and philosophical sciences have a significant responsibility in terms of scientific and social aspects as research areas. It is necessary that scientific mindset serves as a pioneer to the community in order to reflect the constructive and rejuvenating power of science and to make the earth a better place to live in. Our journal which has introduced the platform for the Islamic thought generated in Turkey to the world and enabled the thoughts accumulated in the universal scale to the world of Islam since 1986, aims to increase this function every year as a domain of influence. The archive of our magazine dating back to many years ago, prioritizes to leave the adventure and development of thought as a legacy to scientific circles.
Journal of Islamic Research has an international arbitration system and aims to benefit from the experience and know-how of many experts from local and foreign countries. It holds the objective to critically analyse the scientific richness of Islamic thought at a universal scale with an analytical method and to put forth the intellectual accumulation of Islamic thought in a critical manner. The journal’s objective is to publish original articles of research made in the field of Islam, the thought, philosophy, history, geography, science, art, eastetics and literature of Islam as well as to do the translations of non-published copyright articles related to the basic religious, scientific, social and cultural issues of Islam that aim to promote Islam in its real identity and also of the scientific articles published in other languages. The journal aims to publish articles closely monitoring, addressing the agenda both in Turkey and in the World and making suggestions related thereto and seeking remedies to the issues of the modern people and community and also scientific introductory and criticism articles related to the boos published in Turkey or abroad, introductory and criticism articles for scientific events such as symposiums, panels and conferences and interviews with scientific content.
Scope
The Journal of Islamic Research which aims to promote original articles, compilations, translation books, symposiums, panels and scientific events in Turkish and English, covers the following areas; Islamic Thought and Sciences: Studies of the Qur'an, Tafsir, Hadith, Word, Islamic Law, Islamic History and Art, Philosophy, Islamic Philosophy, Religious Philosophy, Religious Education, Sufism, Literature, Sociology, Psychology, History of Religion and Movements of Thought.
Ethical and Scientific Responsibility
The journal in the articles published seeks the prerequisite of articles with the highest ethical and scientific standards on the subject and observes the absence of commercial concerns. All publishing rights of the articles are owned by the journal. It is obligatory that the articles have not been published anywhere before and have not been submitted anywhere else for publishing purposes. The responsibilities in terms of science and language with regard to the articles and the responsibility of the pictures are owned by the authors.
The editor and the publisher do not give any guarantees and assume no responsibility regarding the properties and explanations of commercial products used for advertising purposes.
If there are any excerpts quoted in the article that have been previously published as well as tables, pictures, etc., the author of the article should obtain the authorization of the publishing right owner and the author and should state such in the article. The abstracts presented at scientific meetings are accepted only with the condition that they are stated in the article.
If the article submitted to the journal is in conformity with the formal guidelines, it is published after it has been reviewed by the editor and at least two local consultants abroad and if necessary after the requested changes have been applied by the authors.
After the article has been put into process for scientific evaluation, the order based on author names and ranking specified on the publishing rights transfer form. After this stage;
· No author names other than the ones whose signatures are available on the publishing rights transfer form may be added to the article and the ranking of the authors may not be changed.
· In order for the names of any one of the article authors to be removed from the article, the explanatory and written permission of all relevant authors must be obtained and should be informed to the publisher.
Publishing Rights
According to the Copyright Act dated 1976, all publishing rights of the articles admitted for publication are owned by the institution publishing the journal. The thoughts and suggestions in the articles are entirely under the responsibility of the authors. No fees are paid to article authors in return for their articles.
While the authors upload their articles over the Login "Online Article-Send-Follow up-Evaluate" link at the address www.islamiarastirmalar.com, they should print out the "Publishing Rights Transfer Form" accessed through the "Add File" section and sign the form based on the name order in the article and send it along with their article.
Plagiarism/Similarity Report:
The articles are evaluated together with the plagiarism/similarity report.
Authors should send the report from a plagiarism/similarity program together with the article as a pdf file for the remaining full text of the article after removing the cover page, abstract, extended summary, tables, footnotes and bibliography. The plagiarism/similarity report rate should be at most 15%.
Open Access
The Journal of Islamic Research has an open access policy. All articles published in the journal are accessible at the address www.islamiarastirmalar.com.
SPELLING RULES
Language
· The journal is published both in Turkish and English.
· The spelling rules of the Turkish Religion Foundation Encyclopaedia of Islam constitute the basis in the Journal of Islamic Research.
· Articles and abstracts in English should be evaluated by the language expert before they are submitted and the editorial approval must be specifically indicated on the submission page.
· If the person evaluating the article is not one of the authors, the name of this person should be indicated at the "ACKNOWLEDGMENT" section at the end of the article.
· Furthermore, the spelling and grammar mistakes in the submitted articles can be corrected by our editorial committee without changing the contents of the article.
The Structure of the Article
The article should be written using the "Microsoft Word software" in PC compatible computers.
The articles to be published (including the appendices such as pictures, figures, maps, etc.) should not exceed 30 pages in A4 format.
The articles must be typed in 12 pt. Times New Roman font on a Word page. The top margin should be 3.5 cm, bottom margin should be 2,5 cm, left margin should be 3,0 cm and the right margin should be 2,5 cm.
Title Page:The title of the article (in Turkish and English), the names and surnames of all authors, their academic titles, institutions, ORCID numbers https://orcid.org/register,business phones-GSM numbers, e-mail and correspondence addresses should be stated on the cover page. If the article has been presented as a notification before, the place and date of the notification should be indicated.
Abstract: The articles should include an abstract in Turkish and English, consisting of 200-300 words, expressing the subject in a short and concise way. Title should be included in both abstracts, which should not contain any references, figure and table numbers
Extended Abstract:An extended abstract in English examines the study problem, objective, methodology and results in greater detail than a conventional abstract. Thus, extended abstract would promote international readership. It should contain 400 to 600 words, and clearly explain the study purpose, problematic, methodology, findings and results in different sections.
Key words: Should not exceed five or six words and should be written in Turkish and English.
Footnotes: Must be written at the bottom of the page in sequential numbering format, in 10 pt. and with a single line spacing.
Translation: As for the translation, simplification, and transcription form of articles, the .pdf format of the original study should be sent to the journal institution as an additional file.
Abbreviations
Abbreviations should be given in parentheses where it is first mentioned and that abbreviation should be used throughout the entire text.
Figures, Pictures, Tables and Graphics
· The places where figures, pictures, tables and graphics are included in the text should be indicated at the end of the relevant sentence.
· The descriptions to the figures, pictures, tables and graphics should be added at the end of the article.
· The figures, pictures/photographs should be added to the system as separate .jpg or .gif files (with a pixel size of about 500x400, in a width of 8 cm and a resolution of 300).
· The pictures / photographs should be in colour, having adequate contrast and sharpness to reveal the fine details.
Footnotes
· The references utilized in the use of footnotes are written in full text and detail when first mentioned and afterwards in short form in an appropriate manner (the name of the author or the reputed, the short name of the work, the volume and the page number if more than one volume are available). For example: Gazzâlî, İhyâu ulûmi'd-dîn, 2/21) must be given and should also be added to the bibliography section in accordance with the reference listing at the end of the work.
· Footnote reference numbers must be placed after punctuation marks (for example, the author was born in 1930 in Ankara.10).
· Footnotes must be written at the bottom of the page in sequential numbering format and the below stated reference rules should be complied with.
1. In Book references;
The name(s) and surname(s) of the author/authors (in the books and articles with more than two authors the abbreviation et al. should be written after the names and surnames of the first two authors), the name of the work (italic), the name of the translator if the work has been translated (translator), the name and surname of the researcher if it is a research study (res.), of the abbreviator if it is a simplified work (abb.), name and surname of the editor or the preparer (ed.) and where it is printed, the publisher, press number (if available), year, volume (if available), year and the page should be stated.

If the work consists of more than 1 volume, in the footnote, firstly the number of the volume benefited and then the page number should be given:

2. In Article references;
The name and surname of the author, the name of the article (in quotation marks), the name of the journal or art work (italic), the name of the translator if the work has been translated (translator), the journal name, year, volume, issue and page should be stated.
a) Copyright Articles

3. In Symposium and Encyclopaedia references;
Published symposium notifications, encyclopedia articles, and retrieved episodes should be the same as the source order of the articles.

4. In the Internet references;
Internet references can be used to point to a reference made to a classical text or to an up-to-date information, report and questionnaire studies not yet published.
The full address of the Internet link resource and the last access date to this link must be specified. Information such as author names, dates, resource publication references should also be given, if known.

References
· When quoting texts, it is important to make sure that the references are added to the relevant part. Quotations made in the abstract part should be written in full text.
· References should be included at the end of the text.
· The references used should be in alphabetical order according to the surnames of the authors or according to the name of the reputed.
· Internet references should be given at the end.
· The page ranges should be stated in articles, symposiums and encyclopaedias.
